Bia privacy policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Bia is a plot planner and growing game made by Allot Me Limited. This policy explains what Bia collects, why, who it goes to and what you can do about it. We’ve kept it as short and plain as we can.
Who we are
Allot Me Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11455284), 39 Stockwell Road, Ground Floor, London, SW9 9QB. We are the controller of your personal data under UK data protection law.

What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, so we can send you a sign-in code and keep your account yours.
Your profile
- Your name, town, the kind of plot you have (for example "Allotment" or "Garden") and your bio, if you add one.
- Your settings: who can see your plot, whether people can follow you straight away or must ask, whether Bia may suggest you to other growers, and which notifications you want.
- If you add a profile photo, it’s saved to your account, so it shows on any phone you sign in on and other growers see it with your name. Before it leaves your phone, Bia shrinks it and removes its hidden location and camera details.
Your plot
- Your plot’s layout, what you plant and when, the jobs you do, your harvests, losses and notes. This is saved to your account so it’s safe if you lose your phone and so you can use Bia on more than one device.
Growing with others
- Who you follow and who follows you, follow requests, and anyone you block.
- Posts you share (your harvests and jobs), any photos you add to them, and the green thumbs you give and get. Before a photo leaves your phone, Bia removes its hidden location and camera details, so a photo can’t reveal where you live or grow.
- Reports you make about other growers or posts, with the reason you choose.
Notifications and emails
- Your phone’s notification token, so we can send the notifications you’ve switched on.
- Your time zone and when you last opened Bia, so reminders and emails arrive at a sensible hour and we don’t email you about things you’ve already seen.
- A short summary of your plot from your phone (for example what’s ready to harvest and how many jobs you’ve done), for your weekly email.
- A record of which emails and notifications we’ve sent you, so you don’t get the same one twice.
Help and feedback
- If you report a problem: what you write, your email address, the app version, your phone’s model and system version, your country, the screen you were on, and a screenshot if you add one.
- If you suggest a crop: its name and anything you add about it.
Your location (only if you allow it)
- If you tap to use your location for the weather, your phone’s approximate position is sent to our weather provider to fetch your forecast. It is kept on your phone, not in your account.
- During plot setup, the compass reading that works out where the midday sun is stays on your phone.
- If you haven’t set a place for the weather, Bia uses the town on your profile instead.
- Sowing dates follow the climate where your plot is. Bia works this out on your phone, from climate data built into the app, using the same place as the weather. Your location isn’t sent anywhere for it.
- Town names you type (for the weather, and to show growers near you) are looked up with our weather provider’s place search.
Your age (only where a law asks for it)
- In US states whose laws ask app stores to check ages (Texas now, others later), Bia asks Apple or Google for your age range, such as under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 and over, and, where the store shares it, whether a parent has given their go-ahead. Bia uses this only to apply those laws and its own rule that growers are 13 or over. It stays on your phone and isn’t kept in your account. On Android, if a parent manages your Google account, Google also gives Bia an install ID: we keep it with your account only so that, if a parent withdraws their approval, Bia can stop working on that phone.
Payments
- We never see your card details. Apple, Google and Stripe take payments on their own secure pages.
- Subscriptions: if you subscribe in the app, Apple or Google take your payment. We receive your subscription status (for example, on a free trial, active, or ended) through our subscription service, RevenueCat, so Bia knows what to unlock.
- Founding grower plan (on our website): you enter your email address on our website and pay on Stripe’s secure checkout page. We receive your email address, the amount, the date and Stripe’s reference for the payment, and the country you grow in. We use your email address to add the plan to your Bia account, or to create an account for you if you don’t have one yet.
Our website
- The Bia website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, doesn’t record your IP address and can’t follow you between sites. The website sets no cookies of its own. Its fonts are hosted on our own site, so visiting it doesn’t tell font companies about you.
- If you buy the founding grower plan, Stripe’s checkout page may set cookies it needs to take the payment safely and prevent fraud.
- Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don’t receive or keep visitor logs.
- If you use the planting calendar search on our website, what you type (a town, postcode or ZIP code) goes to Open-Meteo, postcodes.io (for UK postcodes) or Zippopotam.us (for US ZIP codes and Canadian postal codes) to find the place, and the calendar is worked out in your browser. We don’t receive or keep what you search for.
The waitlist (on our website)
- If you join the waitlist for a country where Bia isn’t available yet, we keep your name, email address and country.
- We use them for one thing: to email you when Bia is available in your country. Then we delete them.
- You can ask us to delete them sooner by emailing [email protected], or with the link in that email.
Crash reports
- If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to our crash reporting service, Sentry, so we can fix it: what went wrong in Bia’s code, the app version, and your phone’s model and system version. Reports don’t include your name, email address, IP address, plot, photos or posts.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, no ad tracking and no selling of your data.
- No tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No analytics tools.

Who we share it with
We use these services to run Bia. They act on our instructions and may only use your data to provide their service to us.
| Service | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores your account, profile, plot and social data, and signs you in | Ireland (EU) |
| 20i | Sends Bia’s emails (sign-in codes, your weekly email and reminders, founding grower receipts) and receives email sent to [email protected] | UK |
| Cloudflare | Hosts our website and protects it from attacks | Worldwide |
| Expo (EAS) | Delivers app updates and notifications, and hosts the web version | USA |
| Open-Meteo | Weather forecasts and place search (receives a location or a town name, not your identity) | Europe |
| postcodes.io | Finds a UK postcode typed into the website’s planting calendar search | UK |
| Zippopotam.us | Finds a US ZIP code or Canadian postal code typed into the website’s planting calendar search | USA |

| RevenueCat | Subscription status | USA |
| Sentry | Crash and error reports from the app | Germany (EU) |
Stripe also uses payment details for its own fraud prevention and legal duties, as a controller under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
Where data goes outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (which cover the EU and Switzerland) or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum in each provider’s data processing agreement to protect it.
We’ll share data if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
- Your account, profile, plot and posts: until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account in Bia (You › Account › Delete account), we delete your account, profile, plot, posts, follows, green thumbs, blocks and reports straight away. Copies in our database provider’s backups are removed as those backups expire, within 30 days.
- Our email provider keeps a record of sign-in emails for a short time, to check they were delivered.
- Problem reports (and any screenshot): up to 2 years, then deleted. Deleting your account doesn’t remove them by itself; email us and we will.
- Crop suggestions: until you delete your account.
- Crash reports: 30 days, in Sentry.
- Waitlist: until we’ve emailed you that Bia is available in your country, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
- Founding grower payments: we keep the payment record (email address, amount, date, Stripe reference and country) for 6 years after the end of the financial year you paid in, because tax law requires it. We keep it even if you delete your account.
Your rights
These rights are for everyone who uses Bia, wherever you live.
You can:
- See and take your data: You › Account › Download my data gives you a copy of your profile and plot.
- Correct it: edit your profile and plot in the app.
- Delete it: You › Account › Delete account, or email us.
- Object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it.
- Withdraw consent for location or notifications at any time in your phone’s settings.
To use any right, email [email protected]. We’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
Children
Bia isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we’ll delete it.
Do Not Track
Bia doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so there’s nothing for a browser’s Do Not Track signal to switch off. We treat every visit as if it were on.
Keeping it secure
Data travels to our services over encrypted connections. Each grower’s private data is locked to their own account in our database, so other growers can only read what your settings allow.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
