Bia terms of use
Last updated: 31 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Allot Me Limited (company number 11455284, 39 Stockwell Road, Ground Floor, London, SW9 9QB), who make Bia. By using Bia you agree to them. Contact: [email protected].
1. Using Bia
- You must be 13 or over to use Bia.
- Keep access to your email account safe: it’s how you sign in.
- You’re responsible for what you post and do in Bia.
2. Plans and payment
- Neighbours, posts, green thumbs, your journal and your harvest log are free, and your plot stays as you left it.
- Planting, jobs and reminders, the timeline and the Calendar need a Bia plan: £24.99 a year or £2.99 a month. Prices include VAT and may differ outside the UK.
- Free trial: new subscribers get 2 months free, once per Apple ID or Google account. Your plan starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. We’ll remind you a week before.
- Renewal: plans renew automatically at the end of each year or month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Payment is taken by Apple or Google from the account you subscribed with.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies.
- When a plan ends: your plot is paused, not deleted. You can still see it, and everything comes back if you join again.
- Founding grower: a one-off payment of £49, charged in pounds wherever you live, made on our website (not through Apple or Google), for the first 200 growers only. It includes everything in a Bia plan, with nothing further to pay, for as long as Bia runs. It belongs to the Bia account with the email address you pay with, and it can’t be transferred. If you change your mind within 14 days of paying, we’ll refund you in full.
- If we change prices, we’ll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
3. Your content
- What you add to Bia (your plot, posts, photos, notes and profile) stays yours.
- You give us permission to store it and show it to other growers as your settings allow, so that Bia can work. This ends when you delete it or your account, apart from copies in short-lived backups.
- Only share what you have the right to share. Don’t post photos of other people without their permission, and never of other people’s children.
4. Being a good neighbour
Don’t use Bia to:
- harass, threaten or bully anyone, or post anything hateful, sexual, violent or illegal;
- pretend to be someone else;
- spam, advertise or sell without our permission;
- break, overload or try to get around how Bia works or who can see what.
Reporting and what we do about it. You can block growers, and report a grower or a post (including its photos), in the app. You can also email [email protected]. We review reports, and we remove illegal content as soon as we’re aware of it, normally the same day. We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules or the law. We report content that suggests a child is at risk to the police.
Complaints and appeals. If you think we got a report wrong, or removed your content or account unfairly, email [email protected] and say why. We’ll look again and reply within 5 working days.
5. Growing advice
Bia’s sowing dates, jobs, frost warnings and weather come from general growing guidance and third-party forecasts. They’re a guide, not a guarantee. Use your own judgement for your plot and local conditions.
6. Bia changing or ending
We’re always improving Bia, so features may change. If we ever close Bia, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and a way to export your data. If you’re a founding grower and Bia closes within 2 years of your payment, we’ll refund your £49 in full.
7. Our responsibility to you
Your legal rights come first. As a consumer you have legal rights that these terms can’t take away. Bia must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and provided with reasonable care and skill. If it isn’t, you may be entitled to have it fixed, to a price reduction or to a refund. Nothing in this section limits those rights. Citizens Advice can tell you more.
If you live outside the UK, you also have the consumer rights your own country’s law gives you, such as New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act or your US state’s or Canadian province’s consumer protection law, and nothing in these terms takes them away. Where these terms limit what we’re responsible for, they do so only as far as your country’s law allows.
What we’re always responsible for. We don’t exclude or limit our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- damage to your device or other digital content caused by Bia where we didn’t use reasonable care and skill. In that case we’ll either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation;
- anything else that the law doesn’t allow us to exclude or limit.
Losses we’re not responsible for.
- Unforeseeable losses. A loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you started using Bia. We’re not responsible for losses that weren’t.
- Business losses. Bia is for personal use. We’re not responsible for lost profit, lost business, business interruption or lost business opportunity.
- Your crops. Sowing dates, jobs, frost warnings and weather in Bia are guidance (see section 5). We’re not responsible for crops, plants or produce lost to weather, pests, disease, timing or growing conditions, unless the loss was caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill in providing Bia.
- Other growers. Posts, plots and profiles are made by other growers, not by us. We’re not responsible for what they share, though we’ll act on reports (see section 4).
- Things outside our control. We’re not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we couldn’t reasonably prevent, such as a failure of the internet, of Apple or Google’s stores, or of a service we rely on. We’ll tell you, and do what we reasonably can to keep Bia running.
Our overall limit. Apart from the things we’re always responsible for (listed above) and your legal rights to have Bia fixed or to a price reduction or refund, our total responsibility to you for all claims about Bia is limited to whichever is higher:
- the total you’ve paid for Bia (to us, or to Apple or Google) in the 12 months before the claim arose, or, if you’re a founding grower, the £49 you paid; or
- £100.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in You › Account › Delete account. That deletes your data as the privacy policy describes. Remember to cancel any subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings too.
9. Apple and Google
If you got Bia from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and Allot Me Limited, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Bia or its content.
- Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for Bia.
- If Bia doesn’t match any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and they’ll refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple isn’t responsible for claims about Bia (for example product liability, legal or consumer claims, or intellectual property claims). We are.
- You confirm you aren’t in a country under a US government embargo or on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you.
If you got Bia from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to your download and payments.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts where that law gives you the right to.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make important changes, we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Bia afterwards, the new terms apply.
